What is the Job Shadow Program?

Participants get to "shadow" a healthcare professional for a designated period, observing their daily routines, responsibilities, and the work environment. This immersive experience allows you to:

• Witness the daily life of a healthcare professional: See firsthand what a typical day entails for a specific role, from patient interactions to administrative tasks.

What are the requirements?

The Swedish Medical Center Job Shadow Program is open to everyone who meets these criteria:

• Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.

• Shadows are limited to a maximum of 8 hours per academic year, per student.

• Pass a Washington State Patrol (WSP) background check (we will run this). If you are an out of state resident, you will be required to provide a national background check in addition to the WSP check.

• Provide proof of immunization status including COVID-19 immunizations.

• Submit a completed orientation packet through the Swedish Job Shadow Application.
